I will be starting the Haute at 5pm today. Best time is 1h 31 but planning to complete at round the 1hr 45 mark to keep legs working for the next 2 stages, especially on sunday😬
Well it was worth a go, hey?!Nice try But unless lock down lasts for 10 more weeks I'll have to bail from riding on a Monday, so don't want to commit to a league. ... The other issue is that my "Racing" is going to be strictly limited ... I'm working on a strict regime to improve endurance (which is my thing anyway) as I want to try and get in to the Mallorca 312 next year ... Certainly after Jan I will look at doing some "Short" sharp sessions where racing will fit in, just to help with the climbing
This will be my approach too if I make the 17.00 rideI will be starting the Haute at 5pm today. Best time is 1h 31 but planning to complete at round the 1hr 45 mark to keep legs working for the next 2 stages, especially on sunday😬
Sunday looks funThis will be my approach too if I make the 17.00 ride
I'm mulling over trying to do all 3 stages even though I'm doing a 2 hour Club Run ride tomorrow morning.
If I manage all 3 stages its going to be based on taking it nice and easy!
I’m involved with the metal detectors, X-Ray and Check weighers side that we have on many sites including toilet roll factories 😀all around the world.@Marino.g - I work in the food industry too. I work for a national manufacturer providing supermarkets with cupboard staples and demand has literally been higher than Christmas (which is our normal peak). We have operations in the South West so you may have visited one (or more) of our sites
In terms of the two meter rule - employees should be protected, and being a food manufacturer is not an exemption to the 2M rule as far as I'm aware?
Our sites are highly automated, but where there are employees working on a line they are usually shoulder to shoulder. We now have perspex screens in every such case (so it is cramped but there is still physical separation). We also have lots of floor markings like you see in the supermarkets to give visual representation of the 2M distance that is required between employees around every site.
If you are worried or concerned, you could contact the HSE - they are taking this seriously and I know that more than one of our sites have had visits from the HSE recently to observe our precautions. We haven't been given any guidance by the HSE (because we are in compliance) but they are doing inspections and do expect distancing rules to be followed by food manufacturers. If we hadn't taken measures to facilitate distancing, you can bet they'd have set a date for a follow up visit!

I work for a national manufacturer - sites are mostly in "the North" but we have at least three manufacturing locations on your patch. My area is anything south of Derby but can’t remember what part of the world you are from
Yes, and usually on very low pay, too!I do feel very sorry for the many food workers who are generally from overseas that are working so hard under extreme pressure from the supermarkets to get the product out of the door.
Should be easy enough Bob. My 1:41 was in workout mode where I was flicking between 180 and 210 watts (so wasn't pushing harder specifically on the hills). I lasted 300 metres in the last league, stage 1. I was dropped by the blob as I left the pens .... never to see them again If I was you I'd stay in C until you're pushed up to B, or unless you're there to ride with poor Del !I’m planning to ride on a real life road tomorrow so sitting out the Haute. Raced last night and back for the Danish league kick off on Monday. Still trying to convince myself that I will survive the danish league in B cat. I’m not convinced yet!
Something like that - when i got the badge i ensure I did to be on the safe side.Sorry to ask as I'm sure it's been answered before but I can't find it... Do you need to do a minimum of 30 mins a day for 14 days for the Unemployed Badge?
I believe it's distance based rather than time based. Think you have to cycle the same distance as a lap of the original (Hilly) route on Watopia or something like that - that's why the badge description still makes reference to it being "do a lap for 14 days in a row".Sorry to ask as I'm sure it's been answered before but I can't find it...
