1.08.13 for me @peterob

Thanks for organising @bridgy

I had an appallingly slow start. No idea why. Obviously riding with Andre Greipel and Greg Henderson this morning didn’t do me any good at all.

Couple of questions for @bert1971 and @Monte as we were working well together until the volcano climb.

@bert1971 - did you have connection problems? A couple of times your w/kg dropped to zero and you fell off our little group, and then your were up around 7w/kg and suddenly back on and then back to normal.

@Monte - did you stop for a rest at the top of the volcano KOM. You pulled away from me to take the KOM and then seemed to slow right down.

I thought you were both going to catch me in the last few miles but I managed to get a gap again on the second climb and held it at about 20 seconds until the end. I was closing on @Alongo but it never looked like I’d make the catch.

Good ride!
@Del C my zwift bike doesn’t have a front derailleur at the moment and I dropped my chain twice and had to stop and bend down and put back on them balls out to try and get back on

As an avid club runner for 6-7 years I couldn’t get them both to work in equilibrium together so I ditched the running club & racing life for cycling. I miss it & my old friends but cycling makes me much happier over all so becoming a purist.
My target is still weight loss and general fitness this year, so hoping I can mix the two a bit until the timber has gone, but on today's showing I think cycling may still take priority

I thought the 3 of us was riding well together, so waited for Brendon so we could chase you back but the pair of us wasn’t strong enough.
Ah ok.

I knew Brendon was a little further back and didn’t know if you’d blown, although you were climbing well on the volcano.

You know what its like then. You get a gap and the red mist takes over! So I went from working with you guys to trying to stay away. But anyhow you made me work hard to keep the gap!!

No problem, thought the 3 of us rode well together. Made the ride more enjoyable

Mine or @Monte s result is out. Prob mine where I manually uploaded as I was most defiantly behind by a couple of seconds.
Don't worry, this can happen - probably just due to where the segment start line is. Lee beat me in a sprint to the line once yet my time was a couple of seconds quicker. Won't make any difference in the longer term and you and Monte know who won the sprint :okay:
