Your lifetime biggest climb is smaller than most of the hills that I encounter round here when I am trying to avoid big hills! It must be really flat round Lowestoft?

Could you sneak off early one morning and have a go at Teide? That is more than double the height of the highest climb that I have ever tackled.

Yes: Norfolk / Suffolk are both very flat Colin. (Notoriously so I thought ?) Very often made up for with wind imo……**from my 30 year experience of Golfing at home and around the Globe.

I did have an issue with a previous Strava account. This is my second. Still amazed that’s my highest climb. But stats don’t lie 🤷‍♂️

Bike hire here for less than 3 days was a nightmare. (Area is littered with cyclists). Getting them for one day took some finding / pre-planning. I’ve little chance / no free days to attempt Teide on my own now. We are doing a Tour of the whole National park inc the summit tomorrow. Should be good !

I knew about Norfolk but don't know much about Suffolk. Your morning sea views look rather lovely!

Have fun!

not local to Innerleithn - but sometimes park at Tweedbank, ride over to Innerleithen then take that road up through the hills to Gorebridge or Edinburgh and then get the train back

I can see why you recognised it then! It's one of our handy circuits from home, Inners, then Heriot and back down the Old Stage Road.

As with my ride of 12th March I based the van at Cadoret and did two loops – one east towards Josselin, the other west beyond Rohan. Mostly on the canal towpath but I also explored some quiet lanes in the Oust valley.

The eastern loop was a bit shorter than planned but took in Canfroux (calvaire plus an old railway building), the écluse de Rouvray and Pomeleuc (chapelle and splendid yew tree).

Having eaten a late lunch back at the van, I ditched the day bag, refilled the bidon and then headed towards Timadeuc on a hilly road east of the canal. Back on the canal and through Rohan (and the roadworks which have closed the main bridge) and the écluse de Coët Prat, up to the écluse de Boju. Then south through Keriffé .. found another “missing” stretch of the GR37 which will either have to be walked or done very slowly on an MTB – overgrown, wet and muddy. Through Coët Prat to rejoin the canal north of St-Sansom. Back through Rohan and joined the road east of the canal at Timadeuc. Followed this down to Trévran – it’s a nicer ride than the towpath: wider, a better surface and very quiet .. one car in 4km plus a few dog-walkers. Back onto the towpath for the few kms back to the van.

A 55km potter, mostly just enjoying the scenery and the simple pleasure of riding my gravel bike.

Old railway building at Canfroux (Lantillac is about 2.5km NW of Canfroux). I think the line closed about 80 years ago
