A sunny morning with a lovely tailwind out to Ingatestone, but found it tough coming back in that headwind, just over 44 miles done.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Took my 9yo out on his road bike for some hills: http://www.strava.com/activities/92968851 30km done.

He's getting better at his roadcraft although hill climbing needs more practice  and we stopped for an ice cream at Charlotte's at Whitley. Given the forecast of :rain: it was a good afternoon out with sunshine, no rain but cold/windy.

Steady hilly ride up the Brickworks then over to and up Windgather, descended Pym's chair then decided to double back and ascend it too, no heroics today though. Weather was somewhat unpleasant, hail, rain, wind and I narrowly avoided having a wobbly, turns out that a bowl of Cheerios was not sufficient pre-ride nutrition today, surprised because it worked just fine for Skye Rd and Holme Moss yesterday, hah!

I know what you mean, I usually have a bowl of Cheerios before the ride and that sees me through to the half time bacon but today I got a bit wobbly probably due to fighting the wind.

Cheerios are for kids, haven't you lot heard of porridge?!

But Cheerios are delicious.

Decided that more 'saddle time' is needed if I'm going to drag myself around an early season 300km.

Planned on a 3 - 4 hour fat burner, try some of the more 'scenic' roads in the local area before tea and medals.

Could I get warm? Not a hope. Underdressed, the cold north easterly wind (24mph +) could not be kept at bay. Bailed out early; brisk wind assisted final run to home. Warm shower followed bacon rolls and a potty of tea.

Winter arrived in north east Fife this morning.

3rd November - Did one faster yesterday but today's was new'ish ground, so I'll list it: 100.2miles in 6h07m08s (16.4mph) with 5036ft of climbing.
(Peterborough-Yaxley-Oundle-Bulwick-Harringworth-Glaston-Manton-Preston-Braunston-Owston-Knossington-Oakham-Cafe Stop (Rutland Water)-Ryhall-Carlby-Witham on the Hill-Bourne-Baston-Market Deeping-Glinton-Peterborough). Made a wee bit harder by the buckled front wheel for the last 60+miles; there was a slow p'ture too but I decided to change that with circa 15miles to go.
This is the lot that set off, 8 of us did the ton

Yeah had a bowl when I got back to warm myself up, however, having spent most of the racing season eating tonnes of the stuff, breakfast, snacks, pre-ride etc (so about 3 bowls a day since March), in my 1st week of the off season, I am eating whatever the hell I feel like and today I felt like Cheerios

After finishing work at 02:00 and into bed by 03:00 this morning and then being dragged out of bed a kickin' and a screamin' at 08:30 by Mrs PeteXXX to get into town early to do some Christmas Shopping, all I managed to get done was 7 miles down to Riverside Park to pick up a few bits I needed to fettle the bike.

Luckily, a bottle of Pinot Grigio found its way into my rucksack on the way home so I am easing the pain now..

Still, tomorrow is another day and I have plans for a decent days riding
