I see everyone got the most of the weather today! Great Pics

Layed up in bed with flu staring out the window at the first decent break in the weather this year.

Reading the flurry of updates and photos let me assure you that although Cyclechat doesnt have an option for "Do Not Like/Curse You", all of these posts are getting one in spirit...
seems like the cold I am going down with (siffles, sneezes, asthma playing up & tiredness) has timed things to perfection here!

(I'll accept the "do not like" button from you now...)

I stopped at the Balfron Bakery on the way back, I had never been there before but in the event I passing again its a must it a great selection of cheap cakes. Shortly after then, the arms came of the softshell (it was now 12deg) and the bare arms came out; there was a danger of getting sunburnt  Not including stopping for the second cake and to take another pic or two of a great view at Cambusbarron (again the phone camera doesn't do the view over Stirling Castle Credit); I was 17mph (moving) average for the last 42miles into a slight headwind.

My brother lives in Balfron. Only cycled up there once on a 35 year old rusty gas pipe Falcon. The seat fell off at one point  . Will need to take my bike next time I pay him a visit.

Blaze Hill

Thought it was about time to do another iconic climb (The Cat is getting a bit easy). I used to live overlooking Blaze Hill so I know it well. Last time I cycled it would probably be around 20 years ago. The weather was a bit rubbish with drizzle and a strong headwind (26 mph according to Endomondo).Anyway I got to the top unscathed without stopping. It was foggy at the top but I crossed the main road to do the final bit of ascent. 789 ft ascent in 2.2 miles.

The overall run had 2,300ft of ascent in 13.3 miles. Not a bad little loop.

Cheers!

I felt positively saintly today, despite the fact it was pishing down I went out and did an hour up and down the hills in Wimbledon. Doing the Hilly 50 route next Wednesday and need hills in my legs!

What happened to Tuesday. Did 70 miles then and had hazy sunshine and gobfulls of invertebrates.

Today, 18 miles to work, wet roads, drizzle, mist and chilly. Lights on all the way.

So today i set out to do this climb
http://app.strava.com/segments/1364520

set of from new cummnock and i hit a really bad head wind from the start, it feels like it takes me for ever to get to the mennock pass, i start climbing the pass and the wind is unreal, worse day i`ve ever had in the saddle, the pass would have been a good climb if it wasn`t for the wind, i got blown off the road 3 times, i actually thought my bike was going to get blown away from under me, am half way up the pass and i really though about packing it in, i turn a corner and the wind gets a bit lighter, i manage to get to wanlockhead, and i thought screw it i`ve came this far i need to get to the radar station, nearing the top, well i think i was near the top and the wind is really, really bad, snow all over the road...shamed to say i had to about turn and head back down the radar road

I took an easy 20 miler with a stop off for a cuppa and lump of bread pudding at High Beech in Epping Forest. I fitted new tyres yesterday, 700x28c, down from 700x32c, and today was their first outing. My average speed improved by about 1mph, although one ride isn't enough to see if that is down to the narrower tyres.
