Not much to report today. Got a KOM on Strava and a bus passed me too closely (going to ring depot manager tomorrow).
Did you get the number?

Nice routes. The folks I work for used to have an office at ham lane and I used to enjoy the ride along the riverside past the rowing lake from the station. Sadly they closed it and they are now in City road opp the passport place. Not quite so nice a journey now!

No ride for me this week, I still got a hurty leg after falling off a ladder on Monday. Back on plan on next Monday I hope.

45 miles with 4500 ft of climbing in the hills. through ice, sub-zero temperatures and snow. :cold:

Met 400bhp, Sportmonkey (in shorts ) and Lymm Looper and headed out over The Brickworks then dropped down into Whaley Bridge followed by a 5 mile climb up Long Hill before descending into Buxton. Got to the start of the reverse of the Cat and Fiddle and found I had punctured. Grrrrr, a bit of faffing getting the glass out of the tyre, then back on the road. Met back up with the others who had gone up the next climb then a fast sprint to the cafe at Blaze Farm to warm up and consume a hot choclate and Staffordshire oatcakes :hungry: Just this once and for Potsy who was probably doing intervals around Tatton Park I also ordered some cake:whistle: Which was very nice. We were then running a bit late so shortened the route slightly and headed back down the Cat and Fiddle road to Macc and back over Alderley Edge. At times bloomin cold but a good ride nevertheless. ^_^

What a glorious day for a ride. Slightly cold, but dry and very little wind. I wanted to test my hillclimbing legs and chose to go all in, heading over Crow Road and Top of the World to Aberfoyle, and back over the pipe track and Queen's View. The result is some weary legs, but it was well worth it for the glorious views of snow clad mountains.

Intended to do Billing Hill near St Helens - local horror climb for Merseyside cyclists, wanted to see how it compares with the Pennine monsters but awful conditions- cold north wind, continuous light snow and loads and loads of traffic meant I abandoned the ride in north Chorley and went home. Despite 2 pairs of sock and overshoes I still had cold feet. No fun at all but glad I tried it. Just under 20 miles. Might go swimming later...

I took the knockabout bike for its first proper ride following this week's major fettling and it has made quite difference. The bike feels much freer running and I'm also really happy with the new bar ends I fitted. I definitely want some for the Raleigh now.

I did the short version of my Acton Burnell route and decided to press on to see what sort of pace I could set. The result was that I completed the 16.9 miles at an average of 14.2 mph. On that bike, in this cold weather, it's pretty good going.:wahhey:

Sorry, no photos today as I was busy riding.;)
