What, porridge is pronounced Poor-witch?
You know that I can pop over your way and slap your legs with a wet lettuce, if you don't behave.
Actually, no I can't as I'd never get up the hills around your way.

Club 10 last night, as part of a 90 min training session, won on 21:35 (27.7 mph) (I think that was my time anyway), a bit slower my best on the course but given the weather, I'll take it. It was actually quite still wind wise (nice and fast), but chucking it down with rain (forced cautiousness and poor visibility)!

Picked up a couple of bikes in Pollensa with my brother this morning and headed out on a flat ride, he was ill yesterday and I'm just lazy!

We headed out around the bay for Alcudia old town, as usual there was a head wind! We turned for Sa Pobla, past fields of lettuce, artichoke and cabbage. We stopped in Sa Pobla for a drink at a bar then rode on through beautiful quiet lanes free from traffic until we reached Sineu.

We then headed for Muro, again through lanes filled with wild flowers and jingling sheep.

The star birds of the day (keith and I are reformed bird watchers....) were Red Kite, Bee Eater and Great White Egret.
The ride back to Sa Pobla was into an almighty head wind, but it cooled us too!
Alcudia had woken by the time we came back, so we had a bit of fun with traffic ( European bike brakes eh, made me laugh!)
We then had a windy blast back around the bay to the roundabout in town and the ice cream kiosk. Ten minutes saw us back at our villa in Cala San Vincente for a cooling dip....

In all we did about 65 hot miles, which with all our ailments we weren't intending to do.
Two happy bunnies!

I was watching the rain out of the kitchen window around 9 o'clock this morning thinking shall I go out? To be fair it was only a light downpour so I finished my cuppa, got ready and was out the door by 9.30. I decided to head out to Thame, a few hills to get out of the Chilterns & into Oxfordshire where it was flat for 25 miles or so until I was back in Buckinghamshire. The rain was quite refreshing and stayed a light shower for the first 40 miles, the roads were greasy so I was taking it easy and enjoying the views, the sun came out then it dried up nicely.
A quick stop for a coffee near Tring and I was off again. Ten minutes later the phone rang, my son was coming home from school as he had a small accident, so the planned longer way home was cut short and I was in doors 2 minutes before he was. Still managed to do 72 miles (he's o.k, cut his ear playing football. His shirt covered in blood made it look worse than it is)

I also went out yesterday but never got around to posting. 63 miles in the afternoon nice and warm and 3 counties (Hertforshire, Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire)

My 3yr-old daughter complained about riding on my bike to nursery today, she wanted me to take the car, but in the event she enjoyed the ride. We have a fairly steep climb to contend with. She sometimes pushes me up the hill from the seat on the back of my bike.

Ended up with a nice 8 mile ride into work via the nursery on my heavy BSO. As the sun's come out I am hoping to do 10 miles home through the lanes.

Best intentions to go out this morning but rain stopped play, so out after lunch for a slow and steady pedal. Scoped out the Brownies destination ready for next week and then down the towpath past the Runneymede Hotel into Staines, passing a couple on a tandem in the opposite direction.
A lowly 10 miles that was hard going, but at least I'm on the bike again:smile:
Looking forward to another weekend ride with the kids, their speed is just right for me at the moment...

No ride for me today, donating platelets again, but I did take my Dawes Kinpin down to the LBS to see if they could remove the seatpost, a job I've been meaning to do for about six months.

Day off work today so set out in the rain with no clear plan in mind.
Headed out past West Wickham and the sun came out so I took a dangerous selfie...

Headed back into London and snapped this 'Radiohead' in Crystal Palace Park...

Had some coffee at the great Shawl Cafe. Sadly, I didn't get a pic of glamourous and cool Gigi who joined my table and told me tales of '80s Brixton. I learned Cooltan was once a suntan lotion made in Effra Rd.

Enlivened by the Eritrean grounds I decided to pass my house and press on with a loop of Richmond Park and back which made a total of 107km.

Noticed I had a nice tattoo...

Right back into the overtime at work. Even eating into my weekend. So Monday night and tonight after a rushed tea i have headed out for a couple of 7 milers on the basis that it would be better than nothing. Tried to pick the most hilly routes around as to make it more of a workout in my limited time frame. Monday was a good run which i enjoyed however tonight was a total struggle. Felt at times i wasn't getting enough air into the lungs . Maybe too much too soon after having my hurried tea ?

Just back from a quick ride down to the hospital to meet Hubster from dialysis. I went the pretty route, via Little Melton. Its all going in the right direction and is a kind of direct 10.15 miles to the hospital, rather than the shortest route which is 7.5 miles, which I found accidentally. I had been out for a mile or two when it started raining but I thought 'sod it' and kept going, no waterproofs but I figured that it was a ride of less than 40 minutes in a June shower so felt that hypothermia was unlikely.
Once at the hospital I then rode around the hospital complex roads for 3.05 miles while I waited for Hubster to actually come out.

10.15 in 38.31 and then 15 mins of cooling down riding around the car park at a nice steady 12mph

A wet and windy ride today to take the MTB for it's 6 week check up. 14.8 miles there and the same back for 30secs fiddling, well it was longer but talking about bikes it seemed I'd no sooner walked in the door and then I found myself walking out. So 29.6 wet miles took the MTB to over 300 miles since I got it and took me over 1,000 miles for the year. Not bad considering I only really started at the end of March and planned on 100 miles per month ^_^ :bicycle:

Wet!

And 1,000 up!

Bring on the rest of the year! (and some more sunshine please) :sun:
