When I first wrote my post it auto-corrected gayageum to gay ageism.

The echo and reverb means that is presumably an electric version of the instrument, although there is not much visible sign of it.

Something has just occurred to me, are there any male gayageum players? The videos here feature female players and the Gimhae Municipal Gayageum Orchestra who were on the telly the other night were all female.
