Two male and one female Blackcaps in our garden this morning, eating berries.
Sorry no photo due to filthy window and general incompetence!

Wow, thought they were only overwintering down south. ^_^
Probably more down south, but we see them in our garden about half of winters, and never in summer,
and about as many females as males, which I wouldn't have expected.
Looking back through my posts in Cyclechat (not comprehensive), we had:
Female Jan/Mar 2013
Male Dec 2015
Female Feb 2016
Both Dec 2018
Male Jan 2021

I have noticed that the Redwings are here in decent numbers, but very few Fieldfares. Might not be cold enough north of us yet.

I lead a pretty wild life! My wife and I live in a forest, so there's always some manner of wildlife proceeding through. Yesterday a Winter Wren (known simply as the Wren on the other side of the pond) got into the house. We chased it from room to room until my wife was able to corner it and gently pick it up, then set it free out the window. That evening, a rabbit crossed our lane ahead of me—unusual for this time of year. We have plenty of white-tailed deer, the occasional fox, the rare wild turkey, and scores of birds.

Since most of my rides are through farms and woodlands, I hear (and recognize) all kinds of birds and have once seen a coyote running across the road and into a field.
