Of course the bike and wall are much more interesting than the 3 million years' worth of upended regular limestone/marl strata in the background. (It's Serre de l'âne at la Charce, if geology is your thing.)

It's worth Googling if you're into geology. The first time I saw it from a distance I thought it was man-made, it's so regular. I can't remember the timescale, but each pair of strata represents something like (I think) 20,000 years, and you can see how many times that sequence was repeated.That's spectacular
