Certainly different, I'm calling it a runners and riders display apparatus as it's part of Higham point to point racecourse course infrastructure.
Would be pleased to know if it has a proper term.

Wayfarer in front of an advertisement by the state of Baden-Württemberg advertising another big push for people to get extra qualifications. Qualifications are taken very seriously here; most people have at the very least one three year vocational qualification and you're as likely to be asked what your qualifications are as what your job is: the assumption is that the two are synonymous.

It's interesting that this is clearly aimed at Germans, I suspect because the authorities don't want people getting resentful of the migrant population; one answer to "coming over here taking our jobs" is "Well, here's the opportunity to get a better job" The slogan "Du bist mehr" translates "You are more".

I really like the "The Chänce" which is the best mangling of English I've seen in a long time, and is connected to the current recruitment and marketing drive the state is running, under "The Länd"(English link). There's some logic to this because the German for "State" (as opposed to country) is "Land" which can sould like "Laend" in the local dialect but really, "chänce"... logic goes out the window...
