Boundary declensions - the relevant one is Wilpshire (no idea what a wilp is)

That is strong evidence for a need to standardise signage styles.

(or at least colour schemes, for Pete's sake ... )

Entering Hémonstoir on my bike last week.

Hémonstoir is roughly halfway between Loudéac and Pontivy. It should be spelled as Hémonstoir (with an accent over the ‘e’ – they obviously ran out of black paint when making the village sign).

It’s also about a kilometre away from Brittany’s V8 Voie Verte. The V8 – as you can see from the way-marker below – is intended to connect Lorient (on the south coast of Brittany) with Saint-Brieuc (on the north coast). As it stands, it connects Hennebont (about 20km north of Lorient) with Yffiniac (a few kilometres east of Saint-Brieuc). I imagine at some stage it’ll also connect Lorient with Hennebont.

I’m slowly doing the section of the V8 between Pontivy and Saint-Caradec – about 15km still to go. I’ll post a photo of the village sign for Saint-Caradec when I get there. If I can shake off the double whammy of hay-fever and post-herpetic neuralgia, it’ll be before the end of June.

Third photo is a zoom of Hémonstoir from the west (taken from the V8).

Any Morris Dancers there?

Not today. (Apologies if I'm missing a joke... up not up to speed with Morris dancing jokes...)

No, just the village of Bampton is where one of the most commonly dance Morris traditions comes from, and they actually have three separate sides in the village.

But I just realised it is probably not that Bampton - yours will be the one in Devon, while it is the Oxfordshire one I was thinking of.

Aha, I thought that I must be missing some context!
