Very difficult to say as may well be a boundary marker as well as a coppice stool. Many markers of the edge of woodlands are well over 500 yrs. The Beech in your picture is most certainly over 300.

I know it looks like it now but it's not part of a woodland. There's an old bridal path where my bike is and on the other side is a field of good agricultural land. It is just that the couple who inherited the farm in the 1970s are hippy types who have just let the place grow wild. The hedges haven't been cut in maybe fifty years and are now unbelievably thick and the only crop is a big cut of hay every summer and a few sheep grazing around. The fields get smaller every year.
