Those crazy Chirk gates again.
I once did a measured drawing of some much less elaborate gates at Blenheim Palace and it took me an entire day.

Today I intentionally rode along lanes near Taunton that I have never ridden before, and was rewarded with this rather nice gate and wall near Thurloxton.

I'm always astonished how much craftsmanship goes into a "simple" building like that.

That looks like a rather grand version of the mail order corrugated iron chapels (other types of building were available) that Harrods used to sell mail order around the turn of the 19th/20th century.
