My old Trek Singletrack 810, complete with much less elevated stem, on a Sunday local loop test run subsequent to Friday nights stuck steerer wedge fettling / destruction. This stem is originally from my Giant XTC4 and is quite a lump of a thing, so I'll probably look for a slimmer version somewhere, but for now the bike's looking and riding better (apart from a slightly tight headset and squeaking front brake after hasty re-assembly). This is the gate to the first off road part of my local loop and is actually a footpath
, despite obviously being a farm track and having seen recent tractor tread action further down. It's always left half open like this.
It was drizzling when I went out but by the time I'd got to the football ground at Cockfield barely a mile away, it'd started wazzing down so I came back up this way and went home instead, in a state of much 'drookit-ness'.
