Ah, cheers . I like that you can use bar-end shifters on the forward extensions and fit a bar bag bracket. I do like Velo Orange stuff and have VO seatpost, stem and drop bars (Grand Cru Course) on my touring bike. Although being a big fan of drops, I'm very much considering a "flat bar" bike and have been musing over handlebar and shifter choice (I'm also a fan of friction shifting). I think I could be happy in a head wind on those forward extensions.

I've ridden drops since I was 12 (1973) but last year my health deteriorated and I was diagnosed with PMR. Condition is now under control but I still get shoulder fatigue on long rides. I've tried different types of "flat bar" and these are my favourite, at least 6 different positions and,as you say, the forward extension gives a reasonable position for headwinds.

And another one that doesn't look much like a church, in St Athan today. I've cycled past it quite a few times, and only noticed it is supposedly a church today!
