Yodel deliverer last week didn't bother to ring the door bell, didn't even approach the front door. I know this because I was in the front room at the time. The tracking information had a message "left in glass box". That would be the glass recycling box, left out for collection, then.

Rescued two packages, left by the same driver, from the bin next door. Shortly before the binmen arrived on the street.
Packages turned out to be two brand new ipads. Neighbour returned home to a card through the letterbox, saying they'd been left in the now empty bin.

I don’t believe that there is a good courier company in the UK. Without exception they are reliant on how good the final link in the chain is.

Zedify. If not in one of their areas, usually Royal Mail are the best, but I have lived in one of their problem areas so I know it's not always great.

Evri are still using the former Hermes drivers here. One is lovely and careful, but the others will throw stuff at the doorstep and run without even knocking, which is not great on a busy A road. No idea how they stay employed and still have any customers, as loads of replacements must be needed. I'd rather collect from locker or shop, or ideally just buy the item from a shop anyway and avoid all the aggro.

This is why I now have smaller parcels delivered either to an Amazon locker or to a shop in the town centre!

I made the mistake of doing that with a dehumidifier though. Not so great walking for 10 minutes carrying a bulky parcel weighing 25+ kg...

I don't know how they get away with it.Lost or leaving stuff unattended during my delivery time 1972-1983 before i went indoors for more money,was a serious talking bollocking job.Sacked or suspended.These services answer to nobody,its a joke but people who have stuff lost or stolen dont find it funny.Royal Mail was not perfect but it was not supported at the highest level in my opinion.it should have knocked spots off all of these services,rant over.

“ I did not and where and how was this discovered ?
“ A neighbour who was checking the house found them .”
” Where did they find them?”

so so true.I got made up to PED but i was going through a divorce and did not want the hassle of the pressure learning new things.Plus and a big plus,i could not stand most of the gaffers,and i would have had to share a rest room with them.So the Tuesday before they were posting the new PED's list on the thursday i asked to defer and i never went back on.It did me well.Before we moved from Leeds centre to Stourton,they dumped a load of PED's who had longer service in than me,i might have got the bullet also i took early redundancy in 2006.

Article in a newspaper today 350 parcels per delivery and only two mins for each delivery.it cannot be done.i remember Royal Mail doing a work study on parcel deliveries in one of my delivery offices.Half that total of parcels.
