Popped in here expecting to read about a collection of steel bikes plus a titanium one. Then wondered if I was in wrong topic. Get well soon.
Three days home now. Still utterly wiped out. Trying to sort out mobility aids is easy for some things, impossible for others. Wheeled walker? Hire one round the corner. Toilet seat raiser? Hours spent chasing from number to number. Bought the bog-standard (!) one myself, as it's available on Amazon Prime.
Appreciate it's really early days - not allowed to carry anything over 10lb for at least 3 months, for example - but it's hard. Some of it is due to relative unsuitability of the home environment when mobility is impaired. So things are actually harder in some respects than when I left hospital.
I also think I've just not taken on board the sheer magnitude of all this in terms of the effects on a body.
I've tried to. The alternative to having this done was never walking properly again, and maybe paralysis and in a wheelchair. So have tried to be be upbeat about it.But you seemed to have remained in good spirits throughout - which can't be easy under the circumstance.
A huge (But gentle!) pat on the back.
Suture removal went well! In general terms, things are progressing more slowly than before, which is annoying, but it can't all go smoothly, I suppose. This week is, like it or not, a busier one, so will have to up the work rate somewhat. How are you doing, @DCBassman ? Did the suture removal go ok?
Thanks!Glad to hear you're on the mend. It's a long slow road but you'll get there in the end. Everyone on here is with you.
No chance whatsoever! Buried with me.Remember me if you're getting rid of the Fender
