Elon Musk just announced several mobile networks have signed up to the new 'direct to cell' DTC to mobile phones. Soon no dead spots- or at least less of them

I knew about the Starlink 'Direct to Cell' system already and I'm not sure that this announcement of a new launch provides any further information.
Will be a useful system once it's fully implemented but depends on the cost to use it I guess, very much doubt it will be included in standard mobile contracts. So it will either be an add on or a substantially more expensive full contract.
Can see it killing off the likes of Garmin Inreach services and devices unless they can keep their prices well below the new Starlink prices.
