Hi. Yeah, I've got both gel padded gloves and padded shorts. Both definitely help. First time I went out on the bike I just had jeans on and after about 3 miles my bum was complaining! Comfort issues aside, unfortunately the padded gear doesn't help when I'm trying to change gear whilst on the drops
