I work night's onmy own so at least I don't have a boss, on a continental shift pattern, I never change my meal times,or the content of my meals but I do suffer the dreaded lethargy that other people have mentioned.

When coming off the night's my sleeping pattern does suffer a bit the only thing that keeps my head from going completley mad is quite a bit of alcohol, the following evening.
It can lead to quite erattic behaviour sometimes but after doing it a while I have sarted to recognise what is happening to me and handle it better now. I would rather not do it though.

I worked nights permanently for 3 years I loved it, 4 nights at 10 hours shifts, no foreman and only two other workers, we were left enough work for the night, but if you got your finger out you could finish by 4am so one could get your head down for the last 2 hours Zzzzzzzz

The nice thing about nights as a lorry driver is that you don't have that thing where you roll back in the yard thinking you've finished and can go home after 12 hours at work, only to be asked to "just nip into Birmingham to pick up x, y and z".

Bloody nights they are a necessary evil:angry::evil::headshake: I have just completed 6 months of them, my sleep patterns shot, my friendship with my closest friend is on the point of collapse, now that I am back on days I don't know what the hell is going on and who needs what which is scary when I work in a high dependency long term care setting. Even the poor bloody guinea pig is existing in a permanent state of confusion

Poor Louise, you've not been having the best of times recently have you? I bet you'll adjust in next to no time, girl. Give the pig a carrot from me:tongue:

Thanks have sent the piggy a carrot-he's most appreciative. I am hoping that my friendship with P can be slavaged, we have been very close friends for many years (more like brother and sister) as a result of me been on nights we've slowly drifted apart. It all came to a head this week luckily we had the sense to relise what was happening and we sat down on Saturday night and spent two hours discussing where things have gone wrong, what we both want, and the way forward so fingers crossed our friendship will recover.
