I reckon you've got a good ear, and are a good listener.

People make mistakes all the time, it's just that we kinda auto-correct and, as a rule, don't hear what's actually been said.

Actually I'm just a feckin' pedant and these this drive me nuts half the time.


Edit: Look at that ^^^, a pedant who can't even check his own sentence!

For instance, I (along with many others) say 'spag bog'... once in a blue moon a 'spag bol' -er will pick me up on it but mostly it doesn't get heard.

I believe 'spag bol' is the more common abbreviation but it's one of those things that divides a nation!

One that drives me up the wall is when people say "Akse" instead of Ask. It seems to be quite a common failing.

You need to be careful with that one. It has a long history in English - you can find it in Chaucer.
