Words that you can't spell forever

Not a word but a name. I just cannot remember how to spell Lynyrd Skynyrd. I've tried for years, but I always have to either look it up, or put what I think it is and wait for the correction.

There's about 4 or 5 others that no matter how I try i can't get it right, but as I post I can't remember them.

As far as I know, there's only one word that you can spell "forever".

But in the spirit of the thread, I usually have to look up whether I should use licence or license.

Ah, this word when used to announce that a train was cancelled (in my BR days), where a train was ‘counselled’ for some reason. Always made me chuckle.
For me, ‘office paperwork’ and ‘at rest’ are often problematic, is it Stationary or Stationery…. I can never remember which, although I think I’m getting better at this one as I use one more than the other.

There's a shop up the street here that has stickers on his window advertising some of the stuff he sells and it bugs me every time I look at Stationary

Separate or seperate is one I always struggle with.

sometimes one can write a word and it just looks wrong, so you stare at it until you can’t decide whether it is or no

I can't seem to type the word 'ratio' without writing 'ration'. I think I have the 'tion' group of letters encoded into some sort of muscle memory.

This thread is REALLY messing with my head

My spelling is not too bad - but before someone posts 50 different links showing this to be a lie of trumpian standards I need to make something clear
a) as said above by someone - my typing on a laptop keyboard is not so good - especially if I am on the sofa with it on my lap!
b) if I see something spelled wrongly I often cannot see how to spell it correctly - even if I can easily do so before seeing it.
When I was a teacher I always told the kids to NEVER ask me if something was spelled correctly - but to ask me how to spell it instead - once I saw how they had typed it (I taught ICT/computing) then I was stuffed!

So people typing difficult words wrongly on here has my head in a spin!!!!!

if anyone else is like this - a Teaching Assistant in one school was a trained dyslexia specialist got me to do a test which said I was borderline dyslexic - but it wasn;t anything definitive as it was a test for kids - and apparently adults have so many coping mechanisms that they need different tests!
She also commented that my handwriting is awful and - to most people - I appear disorganised but find stuff easily - she said both are common in dyslexia!

Probably too late to actually investigate now but whatever!

Always had a bit of bother with Australopithecus Afarensis but think I have it now.

This takes me right back to school. At the local comprehensive history lessons started with early hominids (keeps autocorrecting- I'm typing 'hominims'- ah, works in single quotes)- a pet subject of one of the teachers, this would have been not long after the species was named- so unlikely to have come from a textbook. We also had an ancient Egypt nut, so that stuff was really good.

Anyway, one of the 'outcomes' from this is I can spell Australopithecus.

My work involves using webchat. Quite often if a client is passed on from one adviser to another or there are extensive notes to read the client has to be asked to hold on briefly. Common usage is bear with me..

Amazing how many type that as bare with me....
