Words that annoy me for no particular reason.

Less for quantities, fewer for numbers. So:

Less wine, fewer glasses.
Less sugar, fewer lumps.
Less water, fewer raindrops.

It all depends on whether you can count it or not.

You're new here so you never heard the pedant in chief for the entire Earth get annoyed about this exact issue.

Unfortunately he was wrong as Fowler's said the issue was more complicated. If something is collective even if it's numeric, less can be used correctly.

Yes,i know it's supposed to mean what you eats affects how your digestive system operates and how it affects your health etc,but it's just so silly,as some might think that if they eat fish and chips for example,then they actually are a plate of fish and chips!🧐
