Sesquipedalianist words used in mycology, particularly in apps to describe a fungi. Have they no idea how long it takes to look up as many has ten words used describe a fungi? Undate took me half an hour to find that one. self-gratification artists. I would give more words but my tablet has died and I now have no access to all those fungi apps.

Any management garbage such as "let's bottom this out"

Your making that one up.

no, "bottom it out" is standard management-speak. Not one I use myself I must stress.

Once went into a management meeting to give a presentation on some technical matter and sensed a certain amount of giggling. Some wag had dished out buzzword bingo cards and they were ticking off buzzwords the presenters came out with. Given I'd put quite a lot of work into it, rather huffily said "you'll not get one off me". And they didn't either, not one I'm rather proud to relate.

Have we done "Holistic"?
Why do people feel the need to advertise the fact that they are spouting utter bollocks by using that word? Nobbers.

Edit: Errrh, sorry. I did in 2011! It's still horrible though.
I'm with you on holistic... about 5-6 years ago i worked as a copy writer for an internet marketing company, and no particular reason i expressed my detest at the current use of the word 'holistic'... none of my colleagues paid much attention to my mini rant, and a few days later I noticed on every page of the company website, just below the company name the words.. "A holistic approach to internet marketing" No wonder they went bust, nobbers!

edit: I might have said something similar in 2011.

I dislike it when people ask "Can I get..." in shops when it is the job of the shop staff to get it for them. Also, they never say "please", either !

"Please may I have ..." is the proper English in such circumstances.

If someone asked me "can I get" then I would say "I'll get it for you"..

Did the opposite once. Some 'conference' and I had to make my team's presentation late on the Friday afternoon, with various bosses present - some of whom used that kind of management-speak. Some of my colleagues had the bingo cards, and I managed to get at least half a card-full into my short presentation. Not sure if the managers realised that the michael was being extracted...

My neighbor has 2 horses. When I see her out riding she is wearing rags. Everything she is wearing has got a tear in it. Her horses are immaculately turned out, some people who ride horses just don't know how to keep up appearances!
I'd be one of them. My favourite riding out jacket is more patch than riding coat now but it's waterproof, comfy and I love it  Horses are blooming expensive, cost cutting at the horse end is not on. The rider end is fair game. My riding boots were new in 1981 and still going strong

As for the 'holistic approach to.......'. I had to have a word with my bosslet today and said that, IMO, that 'holistic' was just another word for 'pretentious bollocks', and lets all your website readers know this. The word holistic is now not going to be used

People, who when they disagree with what you are saying or have written start their argument with the word "sorry". What are you apologising for? Just say what you want to say.
