Wooden Coat Hangers - Which Way Round - ? !

You can not snap a sheet off with one hand either way the perforations are too strong for a snap action, you have to rely on keeping the roll from rolling out somehow. Accy's theory does not work IME and so the second hand or other body part is needed to hold the roll while you pull the sheet of with the hand. and in that case having the roll with the end hanging free from the wall is the most efficient way to do it. And of course when you finish you always fold the end over to the back to create an off center pointed end too. It keeps the roll looking neater.

I agree with Accy on many things but do not touch the toilet roll issue, you will not win only lose friends!!!!

The curve goes at the back.
It would be madness to do it any other way.

That is indeed correct. Quite apart from anything else, if you put them the other way, your jacket is likely to slide off and end up in a heap at the bottom of the wardrobe

I remember a long gone, as in dead, friend who was totally obsessive about his coat hangers. He had to have certain types of coat hanger material for certain items, saying those padded velvet ones are good for these items, those rubbery ones that grip clothes like billyo are better for these, while wood is better for these and so on and so on. I always remember him mostly for the time I went to his house and on entering sniffed paint. It wasn't paint, but varnish which he'd used to varnish/gloss his wooden coat hangers he said looked tatty as the shine had worn off them!

I wonder how he hung his precious garments while the varnish dried on those wooden ones.

I can't quite remember as it must be over thirty years ago. If I was varnishing coat hangers I'd do a few at a time, then when the varnish had dried I'd put clothes back on them, then varnish some more till eventually all were varnished. 🤔

Imagine if he'd put a shirt on a not quite dry, varnished hanger without realising! It wouldn't have happened as he was meticulous about such things, but just imagine an expensive shirt sticking itself to the hanger as the varnish dries! I think know that would've tipped him over the edge!
