Ok this is just a little story that happened this morning

Decided to change my wipers on car as they was making some odd noises
when i stood the wiper arms upright removed the old blade the sun was a little in my face
the arms are spring loaded and i let go to pick up the new wiperblade and like a rocket sprung down and cracked windscreen in corner:cursing:
3 quite large cracks
so in last week i have engine management light come on
puncture after clipping kerb
cracked screen {replacement 700 quid apparently}
so now i have to wait for screen which means i shall try use bike everywere i go if poss
maybe every cloud has a silver lining

so thats how a wiperblade = more time on bike !!!!

Hi mark know just how you feel mate did a simular thing to that all I did was slam the damed door and crack down the screen it went ! I had glass cover on the insurance but this still cost's you around £70.00 quid or so but I shopped around and found a company local to me who fitted me a brand new screen for £65, and just to let you know it was a Renault senic with a tinted top bit they said these cost a bit more so shop around and you may find one for a whole lot less that £700.
Ernie.

^ this. You might not even need to contact your insurance TBH.

Call a local windscreen company, here's a LIST off Yell covering Cheshire, explain you need a new screen and go from there.

Beware though, not all windscreen companies deal with all insurance companies, but they'll be able to tell you if they do deal with whoever you are insured with.

The only problem I've ever had was when the MIL got some random online insurance and needed a new screen. The big boys, (Autoglass etc), didn't even deal with this particular insurer, so I did have to call the company direct, but they then arranged it all from their end and a mobile fitter came out a day or two later.
