sealskinz waterproof socks are very warm and waterproof. If you use them in very wet conditions then water ingress down the top of the socks can be a problem but even then your feet stay warm - just wet too.
good neoprene overshoes are essential on very cold days
Use a thin high wicking sock first, put a waterproof sealskinz over that, then your shoes and then neoprene overshoes - that should do the trick to -20 degree C
