Winter paint protection?

Mr Sheen cleans as well. My bikes do get a good wax and polish on a regular basis but Mr Sheen is the stuff that gets the oily grime off.its also good at cleaning brake dirt out of tyre side walls

So that is the sort of thing that sent you on the career path you ended up in, whilst mine was playing Dick Turpin in a school play.

I use muc off uber wax on the summer bike and the silicon spray on the winter bike when I remember.
The work bike gets nothing but a hard life

Well I bought the bike stand from Halfords and pre-washed the bike the night before, used water baby wipes for some hard to shift grime and they really shifted it well, they're water based with a little citric acid in there, dried the bike.

Put it in the stand in kitchen (wife returned mid wax/polish after a 13.5hr shift wasn't happy) removed the wheels cage etc and proceeded to apply the wax/polish the only before pic was the one in the stand you can't see the staining on the decals, but the after shots I am happy with, the wax/polish really bought out the colour it looks a lot richer and the markings on the decals are mostly gone I am very pleased.

Now need to address some indexing issues, finding the chain from the front to rear cog looks overly pushed to one side, is a bike Haynes manual worth a look? I am also tempted to ask the LBS to do it, but to also ask them to talk me through the process.
