Winter Olympics

How come the Winter Olympics are not in the same year as the summer Olympics? Didn't they used to be?

They split in 1992, I prefer it this way, spreads the excitement .

Maybe I'm getting too old but the slopestyle commentators talk like my teenage son ie. utterly incomprehensible

Well I'm really pleased Jenny Jones just got bronze but what was that in the commentary box!!!! Crowing over that poor girl falling over (albeit not a serious fall, basically bum on snow)... I think they knew they shouldn't have done that...

TBF I've just realised the crowing was from Aimee Fuller, not one of the pro commentators....

Someone will get shoot about Fuller cheering at a fall but apart from that, it's typical snowboard commentating. It's not the most serious of sports and there's a whole snowboard culture behind it..

I don't care if they were crowing. If you don't land the trick you don't win that is the nature of the sport. Sod British reserve, we just won a snow medal.

I'm not a big fan of these subjective sports where the winner is determined by judges. Cross country skiing, downhill, ice hockey, luge etc etc...much better
