I have windchimes. I have then in the house so I can give them a nudge when the mood takes me, less antisocial I think. I also prefer the tuned chimes that make musical notes rather then jangly noise.
I have a set in the house that only occasionally catch a breeze and make a low noise, and a small set of bells on string in the garden that only ring when you brush them, and then only a small sound.
I think it would drive me mad if they were being set off alot... but then I find the neighbours alarm can be very annoying too.
