I bought a Wilier Montegrappa Sora a few weeks ago, I'm happy with it, I don't have a lot of experience with modern bikes to be able to compare it with anything though... so I'd wait for someone more experienced to come along

Which model is it? Wilier Triestina is just the company name and they have about 7 frames in their lineup. I've got a Cento1 and I love it, also ridden an Izoard and that was very enjoyable too. Your mileage will probably vary. They've got bikes at various price points but generally, they focus on higher end markets in the same way that Orbea or Colnago do with a price tag to match. There's stiffer frames out there, cheaper ones and lighter ones too but the aim of their frames is to put a smile on your face every time you ride - which it does for me at least.

Like Zakalwe says Trestina is a town in Italy not the model. I have an Izoard which is nice and not too expensive. You will need to have a look at the components as this is where the manufacturers juggle to keep the price competitive and a bike that is ALL Ultegra, say will be more expensive than a 'mix'.

Yes, well, the first one is a Wilier Triestina La Triestina. Confusing stuff. They also mix and match a fair few components in the drivetrain but not usually to meet a price point as is common. Their top level Zero.7 and new Cento1SR have FSA crank sets as no one else makes them to fit Wilier's own BB386 for instance.

OK.. had a close look and its scratched like mad so thats off my list but thanks for the replies.. 
IME, what you get on a Wilier against what is actually in the published spec is pretty random. A couple of years ago, I bought a Wilier La Triestina Mirage and:
The levers were spec’ed as Mirage and were Mirage
The brakes were spec’ed as Veloce and were Veloce
The front changer was spec’ed as Mirage and was Record (!)
The rear changer was spec’ed as Mirage and was Veloce
The chainset was spec’ed as Xenon and was a Miche unit
The wheels were spec’ed as Fulcrum 7 and the rims were F7 but I think the hubs were Miche
Overall, I think I came out better and when I looked at other, nominally the same, bikes in other shops there were plenty of other variations e.g. old Chorus 10 speed square taper chainsets and so on (but I didn’t see any others with a bit of Record bling on them!).

I stand corrected on the model La Triestina. The Izoard though is the same frame but with a difference in gruppo hence my caveat re, components.
