Im thinking of fitting this https://praxiscycles.com/conversion-bb/ to my Cannondale SS Evo 105 in place of the prone BB30 pressfit bearings, if i was to fit this and add a 105 compact crankset would it throw the the chain line out at the front mech, and what would i have to do to rectify it, would there be any other problems i might encounter, my LBS would fit this as i haven't the tools for this, has anyone done this to their Cannondale or other brand.

A bb cant change your chain line , it is fixed by whatever crank you use .

I've done exactly the same with my Felt. Changed the BB30 to a praxis works, and the chainset from FSA to Shimano. Rest of my bike is 105, no adjustment needed, no more creaks!!!!

I also had worries about chainline as you are going from internal to external bearings, but trust me its not an issue.

How much if any, improvement did it make.

I heard quite a few creaking bikes on Sunday's audax ride. It was annoying enough to just hear them down the road from me, so I wouldn't like my bike to be making those noises!

Still, it seems bad that a new design of BB is prone to these problems so another 50-odd pounds needs to be spent to fix the problem ...

Andsaw... Total improvement went from a creaking bike to non creaking bike. Other than that no difference

That's not true - you can get different length spindles on BBs, so of course that changes the chain line. A triple chainset needs a different length to a double, for instance,

Yes but not on the type of BBs the OP is talking about as the actual BB is part of the crank .

Neither BB30 or Praxis converter has the BB as part of the crank.
