Cyclists / runners don't shop in sports direct. It's a place to get your kids trainers and cheap footballs tbh.

Those brands are doomed imho. Just like muddy fox before them ....

Well my last CRC order is showing as shipped so fingers crossed that arrives.

i ordered a few things while the sale was on. sent one item back and it got lost in transit (i think it was stolen to be honest)
i had the receipt and chased them on it and got my refund. that was on monday just. think i was lucky, any later i may not have got my refund.

If my clothes don't fit I think I'll either lose weight or put them for sale than risk sending them back lol

I wish I'd have seen this before I ordered a very good value chain last night.

On the credit card though, so all not lost.

Had an email to say despatched with a tracking number. Seems they are still despatching orders.

Not au-fait with such situations, but I imagine if scumbag Ashley has only bought the IP then the administrators will continue to sell off remaining stock to claw back as much as possible, probably with a retained skeleton staff.

I'm on the fence re. ordering a few smallish bits that have been reduced; got to be worth a punt on the credit card.

I'm less optimistic about the Ragley MTB I bought at the back end of last year since this is an in-house brand; so by Ashley's previous MO will probably end up on the scrap heap or a badge only to be nailed to cheap Chinese tat... However, I went in eyes-open and got an apparently sh*t-hot hard tail for less than half price.

The only thing that really bothers me is the RD hanger as this appears to be both brand-specific and hens-teeth-rare (while everything else is either bought-in or should be hard-as-nails). Really I suppose I ought to to pull it off the bike and get it drawn up so I could get a replacement made; however it's all curves so probably not a whole lot of fun to try and replicate.

Someone has beaten you to it. Take a look at GeforceJunky's posts here: https://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/psa-ragley-frames-for-170/page/11/ and on subsequent pages where he has machined up some replacements and is selling them.

I have fesshole type confession. CRC used to have a £10 off a £50 spend for new customers. I abused it over the years by opening a new account for each new order. Must have done it like around 25 times. Not bought any cycling gear for a long time but CRC was probably my favourite cycling retailer.

I'm wondering if CRC would have survived if Wiggle hadn't taken it over.

Similar here. About 10yrs ago I totally rebuilt my MTB, new drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes, hubs, rims, handlebars and various finishing bits. Around £400-500 if parts.

CRC had an offer on, something like spend £60 or £80 and get £10 off. I shamelessly split my orders into the most favourable combinations to maximise the discount and then placed the orders consecutively in the same evening.

I don't think they ever really recovered financially.....

Same here when I was getting the bits together for a bike build - just created a new consecutively numbered Gmail address for each order then closed it down once the bits arrived. I think I had got to ordernumber11@gmail.com* by the time I'd got all I needed.

*not the actual address obviously!
