I don't want to "like" the whole comment, but the above phrase is lovely!in case a piano re enters from low Earth orbit
As I've written before, I have read on another site someone who was "anti-helmet" for road riding on the grounds that they seem to encourage some people to ride like pro racers, which simply isn't appropriate or safe on open public roads/tracks and with the increasing number of people on bikes, they could well crash into others (whereas when there were fewer of us, such idiots were far more likely to take themselves out without involving anyone else). I've some sympathy with that view, but I won't go so far as to challenge helmet-wearers unless they challenge me.You will struggle to find people on here who will tell you not to wear one. There is no one (despite mickle's claims) that is 'anti-helmet'.
As a result of today's strange weather, I was wearing a rain hat on the way in, but rode bare-headed home because the rain hat isn't nice when it's not being cooled by rain and I forgot to take another cap with me. It was exhilarating so I suspect your friends are jealous. (I probably don't do it often, because having to watch out for branches and duck is tedious - and that and road rash protection are part of why I wear a cap.)Yeah, and having had friends angrily have a go at me for not wearing a helmet on the 1 mile I cycle to work from my car, it gets a little tiresome and perhaps occasionally react a bit quickly.
