Why pedals?

- yes handlebars and stem! So ..... IMO new bikes should come without pedals, saddle, handlebars, stem, tyres - and offer choice of wheels, and what about crank length??
edit - choice of cogs on cassette would be helpful too .........

Is this like speccing a bike from the frame up - kind of how it worked with my Pearson!
