Why do pros ride bikes with such paint jobs?

Lewis Hamilton doesn't complain about his car's paintjob, the poor guy just drives whatever he's given .Peter Sagan in the other hand wants all these custom graphics and stuff going on.

But I like both of their race vehicles.

Pop quiz: is a bike a vehicle? How about roller skates?
paint and transfers come with a weight penalty - the less the better
no most pro bikes need to have weight added to them to bring them up to the UCI minimum weight

To be quite honest, I'm uninspired by the colors today. Sorry, what colors? When I was in a bike shop the other day with a friend, it appeared that the popular color choice is black. Most of the bikes on display were either black or grey. Don't get me wrong, black is nice, but what about other nice bright colors. I guess they are not popular anymore.
You've not been in a Bianchi shop then?
