Why do my wheels spin far???

If the wheel is being spun "backwards" then presumably the cranks are also moving, which adds the friction of the bottom bracket bearings into the equation.
Anyway, fancy road wheels/tyres usually have sealed bearings and low rotating mass (as spacecat has already mentioned), which tends to make them perform poorly in the spindown test, but this has no bearing on how well they perform under normal operating conditions.

Thanks, probably just me worrying about nothing then, I only asked as a friend with a Planet X bike with fancy type fulcrums reacts completely differently to mine and spins all day! General consensus is not to worry though so that will do for me!

TBH leave it alone, then ride it. My Ksyriums rears were very draggy after not being used on one of my bikes for over 6 months. One ride sorted it. Depends upon how the rear wheel is made. If it persists, then you need a service.

Cheers folks, checked and loosened the qr but no change - I'll put a few miles on it then reassess.

Sorry Daave, didnt pick up if the wheels were new. My Racing 5s were dissapointingly tight when new. They will free up if new.

Well new to me but 2nd hand bike hardly used by previous owner apparently - I'll see what they're like after a month or so.
