On two occasions I've bought books from English sellers for delivery to NI and have been contacted by the later telling me they wanted to charge me non-UK postage. When I contacted one seller pointing out that Belfast wasn't in the Irish Republic he emailed me back saying "well it should be!".
Well, after this Irish guy trying to get me to send to the Republic for UK postage rates, I started put in big letters at the bottom of my items that postage quoted was for UK only and bidders from elsewhere (including Ireland) should contact me before bidding.
I then got questions from people saying they were in Northern Ireland and would I deliver there/how much ?
I guess some large-item parcel carriers might charge more, just as they do to ship to Scottish Highlands & Islands, etc but the kinds of stuff I sell just goes in the post and without getting bogged-down in the politics of whether it's called Ulster or not, whether it's part of United Kingdon or Great Britain, any of that, it's still covered by UK post office for the usual charges so not a problem at all !
