Thread hijack.... Sorry, approximately how many miles should a chain last? Lets assume that it's being used 'correctly' over a range of gears....

quite a long time. depends on how often you clean and lube it.

Well I do 100-200 miles commuting a week and (mostly) use the Mickle method weekly/if it's wet I dry it and then lube....

then buy a chain tool to measure the stretch. then you'll know when they want changing.
