Why Pantani? I find it hard to respect let alone idolise someone who relied so heavily on drugs throughout his career.

Mike Hailwood - Great rider, great man
Steve Ovett - an utter phenomenon who did his own thing
Seb Coe - gifted and determined. Written off twice, came back victorious twice.
Eddie the Eagle Edwards - Didn't see any other Brit willing to throw themselves down a 70m ramp at the time.
Ronnie O'Sullivan - for his honesty and vulnerability around depression
Ron Hill - cause he's a nutter
Stephen Roche - Utter class and for 'that' comeback on La Plagne
Jim McCaffery (1970's winger for Mansfield Town) - you had to be there as a nine year old boy.
