Who do you think the most serious member is??

I just looked at his profile. I couldn't find that particular 'discussion' it must be queued up behind the other car crash threads he took part in, the Helmet one from BTFB being the final straw it seems.

I like the mass flounce, where a whole group of long serving members are appalled to find the forum filling up with cheeky lesser beings who don't accept the views of their elders and betters.

They storm off somewhere else amid tears and foot stampings.

Isn't that how this place morphed into its present form?

Thank Heaven. If we'd flounced out earlier we'd have had the ACF/YACF/YMCA(IT'S FUNTOSTAYINTHEYACF) contretemps to deal with.

Instead, most of us just sat here and smirked.

In an unkind but funny way.

I think there was a bit of flouncing. I seem to remember some brandishing of pumps with some of the gobbier mtb posters

The who? Are they here? Do the Proper Authorities know?

Bikeradar is now a settled place, the knobblies stay on their own side of the fence and only venture into road if they want advice on roadbikes. The initial crossover stopped when each side found it didn't understand what the other lot were talking about.

That was the thread that gave me "Longest Thread of the Year" Award 2007. I kicked it off, then Walton, Noodles and Mr Paul kept it well alight! It went on ad-nauseum

The "Tea" threads gonna win now...

Jesus, why don't I mind my own business. I ended up wishing I'd opened a vein rather than that thread.

Back to the question, there is one person whose replies instantly cut into any general discussion and destroy debate. Let's say (as a pure example) you put up a posting to discuss cycle touring in France..... you will get a range of replies with tips, ideas, routes, or maybe someone saying they tried it but preferred Spain. This other person will the launch in with a tone of "why the hell go there, blimey you're a thick twat" whilst quite possibly never having been there (or even been touring)

Points for guessing who!

btw just reread the text I put above, and want to make it clear that it actually IS an example!
