I think every one who goes on Sleezyplane/Brianair flights to the costas should be made to do them.

Then they might understand what is involved in flying, and might shut the **** up, and stop complaining about the inflight meal.

I've flown a plane, can't remember what sort but is had an engine in the front and wings below the cockpit. I went from Barton airfield to the Rebok stadium and back.

This thread is really good. I have a serious phopia about flying. 3 valium and shed loads of wine just to go to Cyprus..... and I still cried like a baby on take off.

It's nice to see the other side - i.e, people who aren't bothered about it.

If I could fly it, I would prefer it. Not that I could handle a 747 obviously.

Yesterday's flight from Manchester to Inverness was the first time I got vertigo looking out the window on take off. The plane was small and propeller driven and hit a lot of turbulance as it left the ground. The landing was even more turbulent but, eventually, over water so there was no indication of height until we were quite low.

Used to be a glider pilot when I was in the forces, mainly flying from Dishforth. The most fun you can have without taking your clothes off first.

We had some big windshear when trying to land with Easyjet in Geneva last summer, and ended up aborting the landing when the wheels were just off the ground (ended up half way up the length of the runway before he nailed it again). I felt fairly green along with everyone else when we started to climb again

It aint that Eurofighter but it was still a buzz ! I remember once doing a crazy fairground ride and that was wilder than the flight.

Even flying to Italy was better esp. a take-off...that acceleration ! ;)

I do recall though when up in the Chipmunk thinking even though i'd sat through a 2hour film in how to 'bail out' of A plane - and then getting up there and I thought 'i can't remember how to bail out' in fact maybe they should get you to bai out that really owuld make it exciting a FLIGHT & PARACHUTE jump...

Loads of time in helicopters but don't have a licence. I could probably get one up, around the circuit and down without killing myself. Scaring myself yes; killing myself - no.

Tandem Gliders at Bicester with University. Did a loop on my first flight - I was surprised by the amount of G you can pull with such flexible wings!
