I am looking to save for a new bike as I am hooked on cycling after only 4 weeks! For every mile I ride I'm putting aside a whole 50p in my new bike fund.

I am looking at the Whistle Modoc Flat Bar.

Does anyone have any experience of these or seen a review for or against it. Or maybe alternatives. Why do modern bikes seem to have a lack of spokes?

Well, thinking back to Physics its obviously something to do with that.

1 - Weight Shedding, every little helps.

2 - Less air friction. Although they are very thin, the more there are, the more air resistance lowering your top speed by maybe 2 mph or more... (again, every little helps)

3 - Cross wind movement, Spokes are unusually prone to catching a cross wind, which is very common by "Steering" the front wheel away. Maybe has something to do with this?

4 - Aesthetically pleasing?
5 - Cheaper?
6 - No requirement for more?

Other than that not heard any reviews about this one, sorry bud.
