Which tyre

From my perspective It's very much a case of, let's see if the oft repeated regurgitated stuff on Internet sites about Continental tyres being good, actually holds up to the scrutiny of actual experience, and mileage, or is it just sheep like repetition of something said by a hack, who's probably being paid to big up a tyre brand, in a publication. I would have loved the tyre's to live up to the hype ( and to be fair, the GP 4000SII does, they are superb) the rest of the range that gets a big up, really do fall short, in my experience, and I have given them a fair go, but I don't like paying premium prices for tyre's that don't warrant it, as far as I ( and others) are concerned. That said, each to their own. I'm not the 'thought police'.

You'd be mental to stick with Gatorskins if you ride on anything else than Billiard table tarmac in my experience, but it's your call.

Possibly, but the pair i had on my last bike had one puncture in 3500 miles. My only, very slight, complaint was thay they seem a bit slippery

I've run Gators for years and been very happy with their performance. Now moved to GP4000s and I'm going to say the unthinkable....i don't really detect much if any difference ^_^...seriously. Quite happy so far with the GP4000s but I question myself if I'd bother again unless they were the right price (and mine were...£50 the pair on a special offer).

What I won't do again is fit budget tyres. Schwabe Blizzards, i got them dirt cheap brand new at a car boot....fine on the straight, horrible when cornering.

And I hated them lol.
Did a 7 mile ride twice on different bikes just to make sure it wasn't the bike or the wheels.
The tyre was so unresponsive and just had no feedback and soo heavy.
But they didn't puncture :okay:

Each to their own though
They'll get you to the moon and back without wearing out as well, but they do feel quite dead, from a performance point of view, but that's the choice you have to make, great performance, or great durability, I've not found a bike tyre that does both at the same time yet.

They are lightweight tyres; compared to the Marathon Winters I use in the winter. 1kg each those bad boys.
