Cleaning the bikes earlier on and it was one of those random thoughts that popped into my head.

I'm left handed and get on and off from the left.

It is one of those questions that is nice to know the answer to but serves no purpose whatsoever.

I'm right handed and I get on the right on a bike
on the trike either way

Right handed, always get on and off from the left (non-drive side). Always unclip left at stops - common sense says if you topple you'll go left.

But, in my typical style, I have gone right sometimes, followed by me making sure I don't scratch the rear mech as I go over.

Right handed and always the right side. I also unclip with my right foot rather then the conventional left.

Left, it is a bit safer, but the main reason is my arthritic left hip makes getting on or off on the right difficult.

Interesting stuff so far.

I thought there would very few votes for the Right hand side, it is almost evenly split so far.

Except for Mrs M ..... you are a legend !

Also the Right hand side would mean you'd have to be standing out into the road, in the UK anyway, to start off. Therefore even more surprising, to me anyway.

It's never, ever been a problem in all the years I have been cycling.

Interesting.

I suppose with most of us it is a learned habbit, getting on from the kerb side.

I of course blame the cycling proficiency I did back in 1978.
