Statute miles.

I once changed to km for Audax. Kept getting confused.

Talking about confused, in Ireland the roadsigns are in miles OR km, but they don't tell you which ;)

was wondering do you set your computer mph or kph

My 3 cycle computers were all set to km/h before their batteries ran out, one by one. Now I don't bother with them as I know what speed I am likely to do, etc. and have more space on my bars for another gadget (GPS?).

My max downhill was 83 km/h
My quickest recorded avg was 27 km/h over 3000 km (including stopping for reds, etc)

kph. basically it was all my first ever computer could work with and, as it allowed me to compare my speed with the speeds quoted for the pros in the tour, i was happy. i've never felt the need to change to mph, even though i can.

kPH

That way calulations are easier. I like to do calculations while I cycle:biggrin:. Is that sad?

eg 40km/h = 40,000 m/hour = 666.7 m/min =11.1 m/second

Then I will will see how long it would take me to do 100m.

eg 110/11.1 = 9.0 seconds.

Then I will be happy because I can say that I am faster than Usain Bolt. Yeh I must be sad.

mph here too, I struggle to understand kph and as everything is in miles so that seems to sink in better. I did try kph but when you speak to someone about a ride and the distances involved they always convert it into mph so I will just stick with that.
