Which New Saddle?

Try loaner saddles from a LBS and make sure you get fitted for it. Talk to them and get their advice. Have them assess where you sit on the saddle. Any review of a saddle needs to be at least 100miles. Now go to your LBS and they will hook u up. It will take some time but the payoff is great. Bring your bike.

As with 172traindriver I am a Fizik Aliante user and love it.

Try your LBS that sell Fizik saddles , ours have test ones so you can try before you buy

Tried a Charge Sponn and found it to be a torture device!

Also used B17's. Never experienced the need to break one in myself as they've always been comfy out of the box IME, but, they weigh a ton and I wouldn't entertain one on my road bike.

My CAAD came with a Fizik Arione as standard. Liked it at first but then grew to hate it. Seemed to have a reverse break in effect with me.

FWIW I know use a Specialized Romin saddle and would recommend the Specialized BG system of fitting.

As others have said though, VERY personal thing saddle, good luck.

I use a B17 also. Worked straight off the card for me and has made a massive improvement to my riding comfort. Does require some care but is never in the rain, unless I'm actually on it! Have only previously used stock saddles that came with the bikes I had before and had no real problems but decided to go for the Brooks for longer rides and because my bike is more tourer than racer.

Cheers guys.

I think i'll give it a few more weeks and see if it makes a difference. If not i'll probably try a charge spoon. For just £20 i'm prepared to take a chance on it, and if not i can probably sell it on.

Why not just do it properly and get your bum measured? Just pointless trying this and that irrespective of cost.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Personally I would feel a bit embarrassed having someone measure my bum. I think I will continue to suffer for a few more weeks.

you sit on a pad which leaves indent in said pad. they measure the indents in the pad... no embarrassment necessary

This^^^^ - the only way to get a quick accurate fix to your problem otherwise you are just relying on what works for other people who will probably not even be the same size as you. Trek & Spesh stockists have this facility and it only takes a few minutes to complete the process.
