I can assure you that we would have got lost on that Cummings route without the aid of my Edge, I am hopeless! That's the thing with the Edge (not the one out of U2, obviously) and me, since getting it I ride so many new routes. It's opened up a whole new world of riding, I rarely ride the same route twice these days.

I did the Eureka 80th Anniversary ride t'other week, I put the route into the Edge prior to leaving and I think I was one of the few non-regulars that could follow the route without the aid of a wheel to follow!

I love 'em, me

We'll have to get out again over Autumn/Winter, I'll go your side next time if you like!

Dave.

No worries - i'll be in touch...if they where cheaper id have one but - I know quite a few places...even if I get lost I always find myself...

I attach a mini compass to my watch-strap. Doesn't give me the most efficient routes or anything sophisticated, but always gets me where i need to go and back. Dependent on a fair knowledge of where a place might be.

I'm thinking of buying a Garmin from e-bay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330366999179

The seller seems to be selling several which look as though they will go for well below the retail price. Am I missing something tht is staring me in the face? I do realise this isn't going to go at £41!!

Just something to be aware of, the package includes microSD - City Navigator NT, Europe maps, as these aren't on DVD, you won't be able to view the maps on your computer using Mapsource, only on your GPS, if that's an issue. Also, I suspect with that package they're the 2009 or 2008 maps, not the latest "2010" maps (released in April), but you might want to check that with the seller. There is on advantage with the maps on SD card though - they're not locked to a specific GPS device, which would be the case with the DVD maps, so are a bit more flexible if you have more than one GPS or change your mind and buy another one later...
