Which EV would you get?

Don’t ever recall having to take my cars to get any updates ?? My phone is probably all I need for Sat Nav as well . However I get your point about the simplicity now for updates . All I see now is motor factors charging for all the extras that was standard!

Our old Honda CRV, two Audis we owned had to have updates from dealership.

Honda were a bugger on the maps, they wanted to charge me for it. I told them to stick it.

These two features were added to all our cars just a few weeks ago

There is no charge for these upgrades/updates

Yes, the estate. I've sat in one with him. They are massive though (he's looking for something practical)! He much preferred over the cave-like BMW I5, although the latter was a better drive he said. He had wanted the Porsche Macan but couldn't make the numbers work with the very spendy extras!

Edited to add: It’s a four month-old Kia Niro 4, ex-demonstrator. I think I’ll need a training course on how to programme everything, or maybe just find a young kid to show me how it all works.

I’ve just discovered that Smart now make two EVs, nothing like their old micro cars. They looks pretty decent, with some peppy performance and not stupidly expensive.

Wow! Renault 5 E what a great car and if we could afford one then that’s the EV for us. It’s the car you could buy with your head and your heart. Great Renault design and engineering it virtually ticks all my boxes for EV ownership. The cheapest would be do us just fine and certainly outclasses the rest. We like smaller cars.

A Suzuku Vitara, where turning off TSR is rather fiddly. Apparently BMWs have one button.

I'm currently eyeing used Vitaras, but I'm wondering when they started installing lane assist now. Buying cars is almost as complicated as buying a bicycle these days.

Lane keep assist on a Yaris tried to kill me on the A442 near Kidderminster last week. An oncoming lorry came slightly over the central white line, I naturally aimed for the verge to avoid it, and the car fought me all the way. Absolutely terrifying.

I travel on that road almost every weekend, never a dull moment for sure.

I’m completely smitten without even driving it, I’ve always loved the R5, it was my first car and I’ve owned a few over the years including a Gordini and a GT turbo, the Alpine version looks fantastic, I’m going to book a test drive.

It’s also realistically priced, the top of the range R5e is cheaper than the basic Mini e. You’re going to like it, I’m sure. We will need full details of your test drive.
